WDCTA Central WI Chapter wishes to recognize and applaud our member’s horsemanship activities and asked member’s to share clinics attended, shows competed in or judged, goals accomplished or are still working on, a new horse.... anything members did with their horse or with other’s horses in 2014. We all learn from each other and wish to encourage horsemanship sportsmanship. WDCTA Central WI Chapter is proud to introduce Taylor Schmidt, daughter of Brian and Cari Schmidt, Wautoma and applaud her 2014 Memorable Moment. Taylor is also a Youth/Jr Rider member of the WDCTA Central WI Chapter.

Memorable Moments – Taylor Schmidt

“Miss P and I became partners in March 2013. Over the past year and a half, we’ve grown into a team who enjoys learning and having FUN. Miss P is an 8 year old off-the-track Thoroughbred who didn’t have much riding experience outside a race track. It took a lot of lessons and clinics combined with a mixture of practice, patience and work, and a lot more work to get her ready for the 2014 show season.

We are still hard at work and as a Youth/Jr Rider member of WDCTA Central WI, it gives us lots of opportunities to experience and participate in several events. The 2014 Capital Mini Event hosted by the WDCTA Southwest Chapter, held at The Horse First Farm in Brooklyn WI, was a blast. The two day event definitely sparked both Miss P’s and my interest in eventing! The facility was absolutely gorgeous and included not only an ample number of permanent and temporary stalls, but also included a covered indoor arena, a large outdoor dressage court, permanent obstacles, fences and recently completed cross country eventing course. The host volunteers warmly welcomed novice, intermediate and advanced riders and horses. The Day 1 clinic was the perfect event to introduce a new horse and new rider to the sport of eventing. Day 2 was dressage, stadium jumping and cross country jumping competition. We will definitely participate in the 2015 Capital Mini Event and other clinics and schooling shows WDCTA offers.”
