William Fox-Pitt Symposium Rider Application

The Wisconsin Dressage & Combined Training Association is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization run by dedicated volunteers. Through their efforts, our organization offers many services to eventing and dressage enthusiasts throughout the State of Wisconsin and Upper Peninsula of Michigan. WDCTA is proudly recognized as a Charter Member of the United States Dressage Federation (USDF).

Please Read Carefully! Failure to complete all steps may void your application.

The opening date for Rider Applications is July 15, 2017. Applications close on September 1, 2017. All applications received BEFORE the opening date, or AFTER the closing date, will be rejected.

Riders should be comfortable being instructed in front of a large audience, as upwards of 300 or more auditors may be in attendance. If riders are not selected to ride, we hope that you will join us by auditing!

Deadline & Selection Process

Complete applications & videos must be received by Jessica Smith via this application on or before September 1 in order to be considered. Applications and videos are not reviewed until after the deadline submission, so there is no advantage for early applications. We will notify all applicants upon receipt of their entry AND as soon as the selection process is completed, no later than October 1. We will not publish or release the names of applicants who are not selected.

Fees, Payment, & Cancellations

The clinic fee for each Rider is $600 for WDCTA members, and $650 for non-members, which includes two rides per day, one tack stall per rider, and stabling Friday through Sunday. The clinic fee does not include hotel, transportation, food, or incidental costs, nor does it include entry for any other person than the Rider. Grooms, Owners, etc must pay separate Auditor registration and are subject to First Come, First Served (register early).

Payment must be sent with the application (via USPS), along with the signed liability waiver. Note: Rider fee does NOT include horse owners or grooms entry. Individuals associated with the riders must pay the published auditing fees (First Come First Served). As we have very limited auditing, do not wait to sign them up to audit, or there may not be room for them. We do not guarantee their entry.

Payment will be processed within 10 days of selection. Should checks not be good, the rider will assumed to have cancelled and the first alternate will be selected to take his/her place. There is a $50 return check fee.

Riders who need to cancel after their participation has been confirmed should notify Jessica Smith as soon as possible. Riders cancelling will receive a refund if a replacement rider can be found, minus a $25 processing fee. If no replacement is available from the applications, the rider will not receive a refund unless a medical or veterinary emergency can be verified.

Format & Schedule

Please see the Symposium information page for details on the format & schedule. Riders MUST participate both rides, both days. Riders cannot apply for only one day.

Policies

Riders must ride the horse listed on the application & video. Riders may apply with more than one horse. If a sponsor provides saddle pads, or shirts, etc, for the demo riders, they must be used at the symposium. Riders must wear tall riding boots and an ASTM/SEI approved helmet at all times while mounted.

As a participant in the 2017 WFP Symposium, I agree to the terms set forth in this application. I will complete, print, and mail in with my payment and the executed WDCTA Liability Release Waiver. I understand that failure to do all invalidates my entry. I understand that completion of this application does not guarantee my acceptance to participate as a Rider in this symposium, nor does it reserve myself a seat as an auditor. I understand that to reserve a seat as an auditor I must complete the auditor registration and send with separate payment. I understand that selection for participation as a Rider is solely at the discretion of the WDCTA symposium committee.
